Fair Tax?

Does that sound like an oxymoron? Maybe not, after all don't we all need to pay taxes in order to keep our societies functioning properly? What do you make of the new Fair Tax iniative and would it be a practical plan to deal with the current loopholes used by predominantly wealthy individuals and corporations?

I think a flat rate of tax sounds like a good idea, though as I am not an economist I do not feel qualified to judge whether it would work or not.

That comment probably had little to do with your post.

Hey Matthew, which comment?

About having a flat rate of tax.

Well, I think the flat tax is probably a viable option as well. Likewise I do not know much about it either.

I think fundamentally though taxes are bad. They should always been seen as a necessary evil and not a free ride for government.

I am 100% behind the Fair Tax, and have been for about 6 years now.

I'll just say that it is the farthest thing from the 'flat tax' which was Forbes's design, and even farther from our current system. Everyone would benefit from it if the power controlling politicians would just get out of the way and listen.

Most of the arguements about it are just plain misconceptions, so I refer everyone and all to either visit www.fairtax.com or buy the book. It's cheap on Amazon. Once you have read the facts, you will be passionate about it like me..... or you are a commie, facist, pinko, wierdo. Just kidding. Read the facts about it, and join the masses that call their congressmen, and Whitehouse demanding it on a monthly basis.

Sorry to go off again Jim......:)
